Situated right on the ocean, the condo offers unobstructed 180 degree views of the beach and the pool. The fifth floor is high enough to keep conversation around the pool and the beach muted while low enough to perpetuate your people watching habits! Access to the beach is only available through the condo complex which is staffed by property management and requires key fob access, Destin’s beaches are famous for their dazzling, powder-soft white sand made of pure Appalachian quartz that stays cool underfoot and squeaks when you walk on it, creating a brilliant contrast with the emerald-green Gulf waters. Stretching for miles along the Emerald Coast, these wide, gently sloping beaches offer calm, clear shallows perfect for families, while the consistent sea breeze and lack of heavy surf make them ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and long beach walks almost year-round.
Destin is rightfully called the Seafood Capital of the World, where restaurants serve Gulf fish so fresh that many charter boats sell their catch directly to chefs on the docks at HarborWalk Village, guaranteeing you’re eating red snapper or triggerfish caught just hours earlier. The classic preparation is simple yet unbeatable—blackened, grilled, or fried with hushpuppies, cheese grits, and coleslaw—but you’ll also find creative takes like royal red shrimp boils, tuna poke bowls, and grouper throats that locals fight over. From barefoot beach bars tossing out peel-and-eat shrimp to elegant waterfront dining rooms plating seared wahoo with mango salsa, the culinary experience here revolves around celebrating whatever the boats brought in that morning.
Destin, known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village,” boasts the closest deep water access on the northern Gulf Coast, with charter boats reaching the edge of the continental shelf in as little as 20-30 miles offshore for trophy blue marlin, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, and mahi-mahi. Inshore and bay anglers target speckled trout, redfish, flounder, and massive bull reds around the East Pass jetties, Destin Bridge, and Choctawhatchee Bay grass flats year-round. The massive Destin Fishing Fleet—hundreds of charter and party boats, surf fishing on the sugar-white beaches, and seasonal events like the Destin Fishing Rodeo (every October) make it one of the most popular and productive fishing destinations in the entire Gulf of Mexico.
Silver Beach Towers West, a luxury beachfront condominium in Destin, Florida, was constructed in 2004 as part of the Silver Beach Towers Resort development. This 19-story tower offers Gulf-front views and amenities like 2 heated pools and tennis courts, complementing its sister building, Silver Beach Towers East.
During the season, the Pool and Beach is served by a food and cocktail hut offering casual dining and local cocktails served by the wait staff.
Crab Island is a sprawling, underwater sandbar just inside Destin’s East Pass that transforms into a massive, waist-to-chest-deep aquatic playground at high tide, packed with floating tiki bars, food vendors, inflatable slides, and hundreds of anchored boats on summer weekends. What was once a true island has eroded below the surface, but its crystal-clear, emerald water and festive party vibe make it the undisputed social heart of Destin’s boating scene from spring through fall.
Destin offers an unmatched variety of water activities thanks to its emerald-green Gulf waters, protected Choctawhatchee Bay, and the famous East Pass, where dolphin-watching cruises, sunset sails, and high-speed banana boat rides depart daily from HarborWalk Village. Thrill-seekers can parasail 400–800 feet above the coastline, rent wave runners to zip across the harbor, or join snorkeling and SCUBA trips to the area’s artificial reefs and the underwater “Navy Seal Museum” of sunken tanks and aircraft. For a more relaxed pace, thousands of pontoon boats anchor at Crab Island every warm weekend, while stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking the grass flats, and inshore fishing charters let visitors quietly explore the bays and coastal dunes.
The three airports—Destin-Fort Walton Beach (VPS), Northwest Florida Beaches International (ECP), and Pensacola International (PNS)—collectively offer nonstop flights to over 50 unique U.S. cities as of late 2025, with many routes seasonal and focused on major hubs, Midwest gateways, and East Coast markets. VPS is the closest Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) is the closest and most convenient airport to Destin proper, located just 16 miles north of the beach (about a 20-25 minute drive) via the Mid-Bay Bridge and Highway 98. Along with scheduled commercial flights on Delta, American, Southwest, and Allegiant, VPS has a modern fixed-base operator (Emerald Coast Aviation) that welcomes private jets with full concierge services.
Key fobs at Silver Beach Towers West provide robust security by granting exclusive access to the building's exterior doors, parking garage, elevators, lobby, beach gate, and pool areas, ensuring only authorized guests and residents can enter these spaces. Guests frequently praise the system's effectiveness in maintaining a safe, family-oriented environment, complemented by on-site surveillance cameras throughout the resort grounds, though some note the need to carry multiple fobs can be mildly inconvenient during extended beach or pool outings.
